“Gurukrupa Violin and Sangeet Shastra Vidyalaya, Pune”, was founded on the 17th of December 1989 by Mrs. Rashmi Soman. Mrs. Rashmi Soman holds a ‘Sangeet Alankar’ degree in classical music. She was trained under the guidance of late Pt. Madhukar Godse for a period of 11 years (1983-1994) and further under spiritual and musical guru Dr. Kisanmaharaj Sakhare for a Ph.D thesis named “Sangeetkala and Rasvichar”. Over a period of 23 years nearly 2000 students have been trained in our school. We have an impressive alumni of 11 violin ‘Alankar’ and 39 violin ‘Visharad’ students. We are the largest violin and sangeet shastra vidyalaya in the country. Our curriculum and material is being used all over India and in a growing number of countries abroad.

Our books and CDs have earned various accolades and have been widely appreciated. We are the only vidyalaya to have successfully published our own ‘Sangeet Shastra’ book that is used for teaching students at various levels. Nine parts, of both theory and practical have been provided in this book. Along with this 18 CDs of different classical ragas have also been released.
